Vertigo (1958)
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock
Quick Hit
Desire curdles into possession and cinema reaches fever pitch.
Full Take
Vertigo is not just a masterpiece; it is a beautifully sick hallucination about remaking another person until love becomes violence. Hitchcock turns color, motion, and repetition into the language of obsession, then follows that logic straight into the grave. Bottomless.

not really my thing
This sticks with you. The atmosphere and direction carry it hard and make it feel special.
Way better than most movies out there.
This is top-tier for me.
I honestly think this is elite. It might not be perfect, but it does so many things right that it doesn’t matter.
🔥 elite
Ace don’t miss on this one

This is one of those movies that just works on every level. The tone, pacing, and execution all come together perfectly.

classic 🔥
Everything about this works.
This one actually worked for me.
There’s a lot to like here, but also a lot that holds it back from being great.

I’m pretty much with this take on Vertigo. It doesn’t try to overcomplicate the pitch, and that confidence helps a lot. What helped it land for me is that the payoff actually feels earned instead of random. There are a few rough spots, but overall it absolutely works.
Kinda mixed but I get the appeal.
Not perfect but had some solid moments.

I actually agree with this take. It’s not perfect but it definitely delivers in key moments.
