As Above, So Below (2014)
Directed by John Erick Dowdle
Quick Hit
As Above, So Below hits like a lo-fi found-footage freakout—sweaty, fast, and leaves a bad taste on purpose.
Full Take
As Above, So Below leans hard into found footage energy, and John Erick Dowdle keeps the tone sweaty without letting the movie drift. The best parts are the confidence and control: it takes its time, sets the trap, then slams the door. Not flawless, but the swing is worth it.

wtf 😳
meh 😐
Not perfect but had some solid moments.
I actually agree with this take. It’s not perfect but it definitely delivers in key moments.
Kinda mixed but I get the appeal.
There’s a lot to like here, but also a lot that holds it back from being great.

I’m somewhere in the middle on As Above, So Below. I can see why people rock with it because the tone is there. I just don’t think every piece is firing at the same level. I wouldn’t call it bad at all, just not a full knockout.
