Two on a Guillotine (1965)
Directed by William Conrad
Quick Hit
Two on a Guillotine throws horror on screen with real nerve, but the finish is underpowered. A decent premise gets left on the table.
Full Take
This one swings hard at horror and only sometimes connects. When the rhythm drags or the trick is obvious, it starts leaking air fast. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s the difference between a curiosity and a real hit.
