Tomb of Torture (1963)
Directed by Antonio Boccacci
Quick Hit
Tomb of Torture throws horror on screen with real nerve, but the finish is underpowered. Style keeps the blood warm.
Full Take
There’s a real hook here, but the follow-through decides the damage. When the image is sharp and the menace is clean, it lands. Italian horror style carries a lot of the value here: texture, atmosphere, and a taste for beautiful decay. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s why it lands at BAD.
