❌
The Couch (1962)
Directed by Owen Crump
Quick Hit
The Couch has a clean hook and a premise stronger than the execution, which keeps it well below the line. A decent premise gets left on the table.
Full Take
You can feel the movie reaching for a hit from frame one. The craft is either locked in or hanging by a thread, and this movie knows it. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s enough to push it into BAD.
