The Blood Drinkers (1966)
Directed by Gerardo de León
Quick Hit
The Blood Drinkers has a clean hook and a premise stronger than the execution, which keeps it well below the line. You can see the movie it wanted to be.
Full Take
There’s a real hook here, but the follow-through decides the damage. The craft is either locked in or hanging by a thread, and this movie knows it. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That keeps it stuck at BAD.
