Sting of Death (1966)
Directed by William Grefé
Quick Hit
Sting of Death has a clean hook and a few strong choices that stick, which keeps it comfortably above water. More hit than miss, and that counts.
Full Take
This one swings hard at horror and only sometimes connects. The craft is either locked in or hanging by a thread, and this movie knows it. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s the difference between a curiosity and a real hit.
