Lady in a Cage (1964)
Directed by Walter Grauman
Quick Hit
Lady in a Cage has a clean hook and some atmosphere but not enough follow-through, which keeps it well below the line. There’s some life in it, but not enough.
Full Take
The setup has teeth; the payoff decides whether it bites. When the rhythm drags or the trick is obvious, it starts leaking air fast. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s why it lands at BAD.
