❌
Katarsis (1963)
Directed by Giuseppe Veggezzi
Quick Hit
Katarsis throws horror on screen with real nerve, but the finish is shaky. Style keeps the blood warm.
Full Take
The setup has teeth; the payoff decides whether it bites. It lives or dies on execution, not reputation, and that matters here. Italian horror style carries a lot of the value here: texture, atmosphere, and a taste for beautiful decay. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That keeps it stuck at BAD.
