Games (1967)
Directed by Curtis Harrington
Quick Hit
Games throws horror on screen with real nerve, but the finish is uneven. Not flawless, but it gets the job done.
Full Take
The setup has teeth; the payoff decides whether it bites. When the rhythm drags or the trick is obvious, it starts leaking air fast. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s enough to push it into SOLID.
