Gabi ng Lagim (1960)
Directed by Larry Santiago, Felix Villar, Tommy C. David, Pablo Santiago
Quick Hit
Gabi ng Lagim either bites hard or fizzles out; this one lands comfortably above water. Not flawless, but it gets the job done.
Full Take
This one swings hard at horror and only sometimes connects. When the rhythm drags or the trick is obvious, it starts leaking air fast. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s enough to push it into SOLID.
