Color Me Blood Red (1965)
Directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis
Quick Hit
Color Me Blood Red throws horror on screen with real nerve, but the finish is underpowered. There’s some life in it, but not enough.
Full Take
This one swings hard at horror and only sometimes connects. When the image is sharp and the menace is clean, it lands. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s why it lands at BAD.
