Carry on Screaming! (1966)
Directed by Gerald Thomas
Quick Hit
Carry on Screaming! leaves a mood behind, and that matters more than its rougher edges. I can see the ache, not always the shape.
Full Take
What stays with me here isn’t the plot beat, it’s the emotional bruise underneath it. Even at its most fragile, it knows how to leave a mark. British genre discipline gives the film a cleaner shape than many of its pulp peers. The strongest scenes feel like panic curdling into self-destruction. That tension is why it settles at BAD.
