A Taste of Blood (1967)
Directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis
Quick Hit
A Taste of Blood has a clean hook and atmosphere that covers the seams, which keeps it comfortably above water. More hit than miss, and that counts.
Full Take
This one swings hard at horror and only sometimes connects. When the rhythm drags or the trick is obvious, it starts leaking air fast. Once the mood is set, everything comes down to whether the film can cash in its own setup. The set pieces are what matter, and this one gets some mileage out of them. That’s why it lands at SOLID.
